Speech Title: Excitation functions of (n,2n) reactions for stable lead isotopes from reaction threshold to 20MeV

Abstract: In the last two decades or so, it was observed that the role of heavy-metal coolant, like lead and lead bismuth eutectic, play a very crucial role in nuclear reactor technology. Hence an accurate knowledge of the excitation function on lead isotopes is of utmost importance. The main aim is to check the predictive power of the nuclear model calculations on the excitation functions and to comprehend the role played by the effective imaginary potential. It may be mentioned that all experimental results were taken from the EXFOR database.

The code TALYS was used, whereby Optical Model potential was incorporated and global parameters were taken and fitted with the experimental results. An excellent agreement was observed. There was also a satisfactory match between the experimental results obtained from standard evaluated data files like ENDF, JENDL, and CENDL. This is an important factor needed for the validation of nuclear model.
